The DV BUDDY system was developed by divers for divers, with the aim to make diving more safe and secure
DVBuddy is a young, innovative company based in the Czech Republic, with the founder and most employees being active and enthusiastic divers. Our personal experiences with crisis situations led us to create the system, particularly when weather conditions worsened during a dive and the combination of strong currents made it very difficult to locate and retrieve divers after the dive. This situation poses a danger and, most importantly, causes stress, especially for beginner divers.
The basic function of the system is to locate the diver after a dive and summon a boat. We have enhanced the diver's unit with additional features that increase diver safety and comfort during diving. To enhance safety, the unit is equipped with a retractable knife and a flashlight with lighting and flashing functions. The unit also contains a number of sensors that record the dive's position and route, which can be transferred via Bluetooth and a mobile phone to the DV BUDDY portal. This allows the creation of a personal account and the functionality of an electronic logbook displaying all dive information. Data can be shared among a defined group of divers.
